About Name Art...

By Charis Slade
(p)

Where it all began

As a child, Charis Slade loved to draw pictures and would spend hours practising "bubble writing" with felt-tips in her bedroom.

Now the former primary school teacher has put her artistic skills to good use and set up Name Art, creating stunning artwork which cleverly hides words in the pictures she draws.

The busy mum of two young boys began her innovative business in 2008, creating gifts for newborns - incorporating their names into striking images of teddies, toys and animals.

A successful start

After this, the business progressed and from its studio near Bath, Name Art now creates vibrant designs that are applied to canvases, t-shirts, plaques, cards and mugs. Each product makes a thoughtful and personal gift.

Charis has a passion for creating beautifully unique products that reflect children's favourite interests. Tractors, fairies, football, horses, dinosaurs, pirates, ballet, the list is endless- take a look, the words are hidden in the pictures!

Her favourite commissions involve personalising a design by incorporating the child's name into a picture of something they love. Personalised designs are hand drawn and adapted to your exact requirements, so that no two pieces will ever be the same. Children love this!

Name Art only applies its designs to the highest quality products, from stylish homewares and keepsakes to gifts that you can be proud to give. As the company has progressed, adults are requesting Name Art designs for themselves for their kitchens and bathrooms so you may be able to treat yourself too!

Why not follow the trend and order something unique for your own home - Name Art loves creating the unusual artwork and hopes that you will love showing it off in your house.

Now the business has become such a success, Charis is helped out by her friend Elise who designs and processes the orders for stationery, personalised invitations and announcements.
